The Melissa A. Oglesbee Scholarship ($2,000) was established in 2022 by Garrett Earhart in memory of his wife Melissa Oglesbee. Melissa was a 2010 graduate of the A-B Tech Veterinary Technology program, and graduated at the top of her class. Melissa was caring, forgiving, honest, and always real. She had a giant heart and was eager to make the world a little better than she found it. She was a respected, highly skilled, and deeply caring technician, having spent her last working years at the Animal Hospital of North Asheville. Tragically, Melissa passed away on December 10, 2021 after a long battle with brain cancer.
This scholarship is provided to deserving students enrolled in the Veterinary Technology program who like Melissa have a passion for helping and making a difference in the lives of others.
