Success Rates Higher For Shorter Term Classes

A new initiative that allows students at A-B Tech to complete a semester-long course in as little as a month was the right fit for student Jayson Laws during the Fall 2011 semester.

Two Fine Arts Scholarships established

A-B Tech’s Fine Arts Department has established two scholarships from the proceeds of its 2011 summer visiting artist workshop series.

Leadership positions filled in Instructional Services

A-B Tech has filled three leadership positions in its Instructional Services division.  Melissa Quinley has been named Vice President of Instructional Services. Gene Loflin has been hired as the Associate Vice President of Instructional Services. Sue Olesiuk has been named Dean of Academic Success.

President's List for Fall 2011

A-B Tech has announced the following students have been named to the President’s List for the fall semester. To qualify, students must be enrolled in an academic program, carry at least 12 credit hours of curriculum courses numbered 100 or above, and have a 4.0 quality point average for the semester under consideration.

 

Dean's List for the Fall 2011 Semester

January 30, 2012

A-B Tech has announced the following students have been named to the Dean’s List for the fall semester. To qualify, students must be enrolled in an academic program, carry at least eight credit hours of curriculum courses numbered 100 or above, and have a minimum 3.75 quality point average for the semester under consideration.

 

Understanding Your Credit in 2012

A-B Tech’s Small Business Center, Minority Enterprise Development Week, Inc. and the City of Asheville is sponsoring a free workshop on Understanding Your Credit in 2012 from 10 a.m. to noon Jan. 31 in room 2046 of the Small Business Center at the Enka site. Register by Jan. 27 with James Lee, Minority Business Coordinator, at minoritybusiness@ashevillenc.gov or by calling 232-4566.
